Nexus runs in your home, organises media and live household controls around rooms and people, and connects compatible speakers, screens and automation.
System requirements
Run Nexus Server on a computer in your home.
The Nexus Server application can currently be installed on Windows or macOS and is designed to run on a computer within the home.
For larger libraries and the best performance
- A modern Intel Core i5-equivalent processor or Apple Silicon Mac
- 8GB of RAM or more
- Solid-state storage
Nexus reads media directly from your existing library or network storage rather than copying films, television programmes and music into a separate library. The server therefore does not normally require a large amount of storage, although space is still needed for metadata, artwork, system data and uploaded photographs.
The server should remain powered on and connected to the home network whenever Nexus is in use.
